FINTRY SPORTS CLUB
RESTAURANT BAR GYM SQUASH BOWLING LOUNGE
Fintry Sports and Recreation Club was founded in 1979. It is a progressive, modern club and the excellent facilities have attracted members from towns and villages many miles away. Nestled between the Campsie Fells to the North and the Fintry Hills to the South, the club has grown, becoming the hub of the village since Ruth Menzies of Culcruech Castle donated the playing fields to the village.
In 1979, the people of Fintry were asked, “If you had a sports club what would they like to see in it?” After much consideration, it was decided that rugby and squash would be the place to start. After all, Strathendrick Rugby Club was looking for a new home and the number of avid players of the up and coming sport squash was growing rapidly. The Club grew with the additions of the Fintry Riding Club, Fintry Football Club and later, in 1989, the indoor bowling hall completed the excellent community facility as it is known today. Built mostly by local volunteers, it has become a vital part of village life.
The facilities at the Club include a fully equipped gym with comfortable changing rooms, a top quality four-rink indoor bowling green, two well-maintained rugby pitches, two full sized squash courts and for all your refreshments there is a well stocked lounge bar serving lunches daily.
Our Club, managed by Brenda Ross, also has an extremely popular steak night every Friday.
Having previously run the popular Crown Hotel in Kippen with her family, Brenda has created a fantastic lunch and snack menu as well bringing the sizzling steaks from The Crown with her to Fintry. With freshly prepared food served seven days a week, daily specials, quality coffee and delicious home baking at very reasonable prices; you’ll be back again and again. We also have a pizza night every Saturday with an array of delicious options available to sit in or takeaway!
